The song's co-writer Penelope Magnet described it as "about guys that try to put on but can't back it up."[2]
It's possibly a response to Limp Bizkit's ”Just Drop Dead", which lead singer Fred Durst wrote about Spears, but this is unconfirmed.
Another unreleased song titled "Rockstar" was possibly produced by Pharrell Williams and Dallas Austin for Blackout.[3]
